A few weeks back, I was the first person to print in color with that printer. See previous post. Now Some people are complain because they are only able to print in greyscale. This is how I resolved:. Create a new printer called HPColor as Printer name. Modify file /etc/cups/ppd/HPColor.ppd: *FoomaticRIPCommandLine: "foo2hp2600-wrapper %A" to *FoomaticRIPCommandLine: "foo2hp2600-wrapper -c %A" Good Luck!!!.

Yes, now we can print in color with this hp. Thanks for your help. But,…I sent a photo to the device and the result was in colors but quality wasn’t very good. Do you know how to improve quality?

Well, it worked, but is not a very satisfactory solution yet… maybe the guys from HPLIP will release a good driver for this good printer.

I installed the foo2hp driver whitout any problem but when i print a picture, it really doesn’t look good. It is alligator-skinned (like someone else said). Does someone know how to fix this ?

I work in linux, I test Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04, 10.10, Kubuntu 10.04, 10.10, Fedora 14, Suse 13, and allways print in alligator skin when I select ’1 bit per plane’, when I turn to ’2 bits per plane’ the alligator skin disapears and the colors are not good, is a horrible print.
This printer ‘HP2600n’, prints ok on windows, but I don’t want work in windows.
I read a lot of forums, and there are people with the same problem, a there are without this problem.
I don’t understand it, 14 months with this problem and no solutions….
Can you help me ???
